There's no better way to update a dining room than a great chandelier. It can either be the finishing touch on a room reno, or a simple way to update a space without doing much else to it.
A client recently asked us to help her pick out a chandelier for her dining room. She wanted a silver or chrome fixture that would fit in with her existing hardware and traditional style. We talked her into getting out of her comfort zone a bit with some glam options.

Some tips for installation:
A dining room chandelier should be no wider than 12" less than the width of the table. You don't want to bump your head on it when you stand up!
The chandelier should sit 30" above the top of the table for an 8' ceiling. Raise the fixture 3" for each additional foot of ceiling height. This usually works out to be 60-66" above the floor.
Make sure it's centered over your table.
Most importantly, pick out something that you love! It doesn't have to match anything in your house - it should make you happy every time you sit up at your table.
